The Democrats promised an increase in minimum wage in the last term, but the Senate Parliamentarian, an unelected position, said that a wage increase couldn’t go into a reconciliation package. Now, an increase in minimum wage seems off the table, which is truly wild when you consider the wage was last increased 14 years ago. And so many people are excluded from that paltry amount: like tipped workers and those not recognized as workers (like farm, domestic and gig workers). And that at least 62% of people support a minimum wage increase.

Pass local legislation and policies that increase the minimum wage. They should also pass local legislation and end Right to Work laws to ensure every worker has the right to form a union, especially informal work sectors. Organize in your community and join your local union campaign to do it.
Pass legislation to increase the minimum wage, as well passing the PRO act and ensure every worker has the right to form a union, especially the growing informal work sectors like gig and domestic work.
