Issue: Digital looks different, but also the same
a lot of offline organizing can and should inform your online strategies. The internet can feel different, but it’s actually eerily similar to what we already know about in person, community organizing. People recruiting people, creating space, building community, finding ways to connect on shared issues and building power, and engaging together. The tools we use are different, and the opportunities to engage people can be even greater – and that’s where the learning and adapting comes in. Good digital to field organizers have to have the capacity to build the systems we need to engage people, identify issues that might reach people, respond right away to them through various channels, and then use the data and analytics to keep going.
